Description
The Sociology of Education: A Key Component of Society
The Department of Sociology at Brandeis University seeks an instructor for a 4-credit course, SOC 104a, in the Spring semester. This course examines the role of education in society, encompassing pedagogy, school systems, teacher organizations, parental involvement, community contexts, and issues related to class, race, and gender.
Course Overview
This course meets the university's diversity requirement (DEIS-US) and is crosslisted with the Education Program. The class will meet on weekdays during the morning or early afternoon, with a schedule to be determined in consultation with the instructor.
