DescriptionThis position is responsible for: Plans, coordinates, supervises, and evaluates the day-to-day operations of the camp dining hall; ensures the dining hall operates in compliance with health standards and regulations; supervises, schedules, evaluates, and participates in the work of dining hall personnel, including the Camp Dining Room Attendants, Camp Dishwashers, and Camp Kitchen Assistants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plans, schedules, assigns, and supervises the work of dining hall attendants, dishwashers, and kitchen assistants; trains and instructs employees in the proper methods and procedures; monitors work in progress and upon completion to ensure quality standards and health regulations are enforced.
- Must follow all Site and Food Service Accreditation Standards set forth by the American Camp Association.
- Maintain personal hygiene according to health regulations (e.g., handwashing, hair put back, closed-toe shoes, etc.).
- Maintains and follows all health regulations as to the cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
- Rotates assignments of Camp Dining Room Attendants (i.e., serving line, head table, restrooms, mopping, etc.).
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to observe children and youth and ensure their safety. Some physical requirements of the Camp Dining Hall Supervisor position could be endurance, including climbing, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity are required to manipulate dining hall equipment and participate in activities. Requires a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Have a willingness to live in a camp setting and to work irregular hours, delivering a program at the facility available. Operate with daily exposure to the sun, heat, and varying environmental conditions.

Additional Information:
- Camp Staff Orientation will be held June 8 – 14, 2026, and participation is required. The 2026 summer Camp program session will be held June 15 - July 25, 2026. If you are unable to work the entire session, please let us know on your application.

- Two years of progressively responsible experience in food service management, with at least six months of experience in a supervisory capacity preferred, or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
