    Description


    Squirrel Hill Health Center is a comprehensive primary healthcare center established in 2006 to deliver high quality, affordable healthcare, including dental and behavioral care, regardless of income level or insurance status.

    We have an opportunity for a Billing and Coding Specialist within our finance department.

    The ideal candidate will have integrity, be well versed in insurance rules and regulations, able to work remotely in a very collaborative team environment, be adaptable, and pay great attention to detail.


    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    Responsible for the timely and accurate Coding and data entry of patient billing information.
    Assist with the follow-up of A/R, including self-pay and/or the resolution of denials.
    Provide assistance to staff and patients regarding billing issues and problem resolution in a courteous and timely manner. Participate in development of organization procedures and update of forms and manuals related to the revenue cycle.
    Run and analyze assigned reports to ensure completion and accuracy of billing processes.
    Collaborate with billing team in the planning, implementation, administration, and evaluation of projects to increase/improve billing processes.

    Maintain up to date knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid/Commercial Insurers and other program updates including ICD-10/CPT and HIPAA.Perform other necessary duties as assigned.

    This position is hybrid after initial onsite training. A HIPAA compliant workspace is required as well as the ability to manage electronic communications effectively, responsibly, and professionally. The position may require additional training or coverage on-site as needed.


    Qualifications:
    All CDC recommended vaccines required, including most recent COVID vaccine.
