    Position Title: BSW Laborer - Locator

    Union: IBEW 89

    TERM Employee

    $16.32 to $24.20 hourly DOE

    Job Summary

    The BSW Laborer - Locator role involves providing manual labor to BSW and Construction crews, which includes activities like digging, placing, traffic control, and locates. It also includes clean-up/restoration tasks and non-technical functions related to construction projects. The BSW Laborer - Locator will drive company vehicles with trailers and equipment, handle locate activities such as reading maps, measuring, and coordinating with locate vendors to ensure timely and accurate completions to meet customer deadlines.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Set up work area protection and place traffic control signs to meet Local and State requirements.
    • Direct traffic flow to ensure safety within the work area.
    • Provide manual labor support for Equipment operators and Line workers.
    • Read service requests, interpret maps, and determine efficient drop placement.
    • Interface with property owners and customers at job sites.
    • Follow all relevant laws, Company policies, and procedures.
    • Utilize safety equipment and wear company uniform.

    Qualifications:

    • Fluency in English - reading, writing, and speaking.
    • Good communication skills with customers, co-workers, inspectors, and management.
    • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
    • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving record.
    • Physical fitness to handle job duties and work with hand tools.
    • Tolerance for working in various environmental conditions and with noise.
    • Flexibility to work varied hours and days.

    Desired skills or certifications:

    • State Flagger Certification.
    • State CDL.

    Work Authorization

    Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship.

    Physical Requirements

    Work Environment

    Primary work will be outdoors, including exposure to varying weather conditions and noise. Some indoor work may be required for administrative tasks.
