    Description

    The Archer School for Girls is seeking a skilled and experienced Middle and Upper School History teacher beginning in August 2024. Our History courses offer students active learning opportunities framed around big ideas. Lessons challenge students to think critically, grapple with multiple truths, and to analyze historical events from a variety of perspectives. Coursework is intertwined with history skills as well as other literacies such as digital and cross-cultural in order to prepare students to thrive in an increasingly connected and global world.

    Ideal candidates have a degree in history or education, at least 3-5 years of history teaching experience, robust content knowledge, dynamic pedagogical skills, strong communication and relationship skills, and a passion to teach and learn from young people. Candidates must have the flexibility to teach at multiple grade levels and a commitment to the value of teaching in a diverse and inclusive learning community. Experience with a variety of assessment design including project-based learning and the evolving use of digital tools in the classroom is a must. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to teaching 4-5 courses, designing curriculum, collaborating with colleagues, and supporting extracurricular school activities.

    Salary Range: $67,200 to $120,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
