    Job Summary


    The Senior Director, Distribution is accountable for leading the distribution negotiations of Optimum News Networks (News 12, i24NEWS) across traditional and OTT platforms.

    This includes VOD, TVE & OTT rights. This role will also lead key sales operations, data tracking, competitive analysis, technical integrations, and partnership agreements.

    Responsibilities – Lead sales and distribution partnerships, as well as new media distribution initiatives for Altice USA News (News 12, i24NEWS).

    This includes expiring agreements, new business agreements (syndication opportunities) and expanded rights for existing agreements, as well as technical and security requirements (e.g., authentication requirements, content protection requirements) for traditional and OTT platforms.

    Responsibilities

    Lead all deal preparation:
    reviewing current contracts, market research analysis, financial analysis, and establish deal goals. Evaluate complex issues, financial impact, MFN analysis and all contractual provisions.


    Maintain a deep understanding of the consumer media market, usage patterns, programming offerings and value, technology delivery platforms and security requirements and overall competitive landscape.

    Continually evaluate content presentations and performance, new services and emerging delivery platforms.


    Aggressively negotiate to acquire desired distribution deals and maximum rights to achieve the optimal value proposition, maximum flexibility, and greatest revenue opportunities.

    Work with legal to paper deals.

    Work effectively with Product, Marketing, Legal, Engineering, Sales and Finance colleagues to understand needs and capabilities.

    Lead all aspects of the Altice USA News relationship with cable and OTT partners.

    Create deal summaries for existing deals prior to negotiations and for new deals after their completion.


    Lead and/or support ad-hoc projects and initiatives throughout the year that are related to the fulfillment of department goals and objectives.

    Lead and execute the development of a syndication strategy

    Oversee monetization strategy

    Work closely with the operations team to streamline processes

    Develop and maintain strong relationships with our partners to ensure success.

    Ensure post deal compliance and implementation of all programming obligations.

    Oversee all key support functions of the distribution process including affiliate authorizations, client hospitality/events, industry/client trade conferences, etc.

    Negotiate marketing and network partnerships with outside brands.

    Qualifications

    10+ years of experience in content distribution and business development with linear and digital partners at a major network group or platform

    Bachelor's degree

    Adept at possessing a solid understanding of contracts and negotiating sound commercial agreements

    Proven experience and understanding the broader media landscape and emerging content distribution trends

    Ability to create and make strategic deal related presentations to senior management

    Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a multi-function organization, meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities

    Relationships across media industry, especially across the affiliate and digital platform landscape

    The candidate must be a strategic and analytical thinker that is able to move from high-level concepts into practical planning and tactical implementation

    This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience.

    The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $161,186.00 – $230,265.00 / year.

    The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
