Our Interview Process:

At Palmetto Renovations of Columbia, Inc. we believe in finding the best talent and ensuring they're the right fit for our team. Our comprehensive interview process is designed to not only evaluate your skills and experience but also give you a taste of what it's like to work with us. Here's a breakdown of our process:

1. Initial Phone Screening: We start with a casual conversation to discuss the basic details of the position and to introduce you to our company culture. During this call, we'll also explain our interview process and answer any questions you may have.

2. In-Person Interview with HR Manager: You'll have the opportunity to meet with our HR Manager to further discuss the position, your qualifications, and how you align with our company values.

3. Background Check and Drug Test: To ensure the safety and security of our team and clients, we conduct a thorough background check and drug test as part of our hiring process.

4. Working Interview:

Part A: Day 1-Day 2: During the first phase of our working interview, you'll complete the First Sun EAP training. This comprehensive program familiarizes you with industry-wide professionalism standards through training guides, videos, and knowledge tests.

Part B: Day 3-Day 5: In the second phase, you'll engage in on-the-job training specific to the position you're applying for. For example, if you're interviewing for a Sales Support Specialist role, your duties may include:

• Answering phones and recording messages
• Receiving incoming calls from potential customers and documenting information in our CRM software
• Facilitating communication within the Sales Department
• Creating and distributing marketing materials
• Maintaining accurate records of sales activities

Depending on your performance and the complexity of the role, this phase may be extended by another 5 working days. You'll be compensated at a rate of $12.50/hour for this week-long working interview. At the end of this stage, you'll have the opportunity to negotiate your starting salary with upper management as you transition into a full-time employee.

Position Overview: The Tile Technician will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining tile surfaces in residential and commercial settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tile installation, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for delivering superior craftsmanship. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects and contribute to the success of our team.

Responsibilities:

• Install ceramic, porcelain, marble, and other types of tile according to design plans and specifications
• Prepare surfaces for tile installation, including cleaning, leveling, and waterproofing
• Cut and shape tiles using hand tools and power saws to fit around obstacles and create intricate patterns
• Set tiles in adhesive mortar or grout, ensuring proper alignment and spacing
• Repair or replace damaged tiles and grout as needed
• Seal and finish tile surfaces to protect against moisture and stains
• Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other tradespeople to coordinate tile work on construction projects
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety guidelines and best practices

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a tile technician or similar role
• Strong knowledge of tile materials, installation techniques, and industry standards
• Proficiency in using tile saws, grout mixers, and other tile tools and equipment
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality workmanship
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
