    Join usThe Principal provides instructional and daily operational leadership for their assigned grade band programs by fostering a culture of high expectation, providing every student with equitable access to high-quality and culturally relevant instruction, building strong partnerships with families and community, creating a safe, welcoming environment that reflects and supports the racial and ethnic diversity of the student population and communities served, and facilitating continuous improvement of the program.

    This is a full-time position. Ability to work independently, typically 40 hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 8-4 or as defined by the school.

    With the Director of Academics, establish an instructional vision and focused plan for improving student achievement while narrowing the disparities between the highest and lowest-performing students.

    Articulate the school's vision to the community and solicit its support in accomplishing the mission, using appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.

    Develop measurable goals for student growth, collect baseline and progression data to identify and implement strategies for improvement, identify implementation actions, and regularly report on progress.

    Lead development, evaluation, and improvement of the instruction provided and ensure access to and support for rigorous and culturally relevant instruction for all students.

    Lead development, evaluation, and improvement of school counseling program.

    Actively engage and advocate for historically underserved families of color, including those whose first language may not be English, as essential partners in their students education, school planning, and decision-making.

    Support the development of school improvement plans with staff, parents, and community members.
    Build and maintain a shared leadership team that reflects diverse perspectives.

    Collaborate with the Systems team on all academic applications and systems to track progress related to school performance objectives and academic excellence indicators.

    Regularly observe and evaluate classroom instruction and implement approaches and systems that improve educators performance while ensuring equitable access to curriculum standards, programs, and materials regardless of race or achievement levels.

    Create a community of continuous learning for all staff and students.

    Supervise and support instruction by providing professional development to strengthen employees knowledge and skills for accelerating student achievement and eliminating barriers that have historically disenfranchised groups of students.

    Establish instructional systems for monitoring student progress, assessment, and accountability that drive student improvement and work to eliminate the effects of institutional racism.

    Foster a culture of high expectations, providing every student with equitable access to high-quality and culturally relevant instruction.
    Build strong partnerships with families and the broader school community.

    Create a safe, welcoming environment that reflects and supports the racial and ethnic diversity of the student population and communities served.

    Manage a positive student behavior system; promote social justice; ensure student discipline is appropriate and equitable.
    Guide teachers, students, and parents through collaborative problem-solving processes.
    Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
    Manage operational, technical, and school activities and staff to promote student growth.
    As requested, supply the Director of Academics with budget requests. Comply with and ensure compliance by direct reports with all budgeting, purchasing, and invoice approval processes.
    Ensure compliance with Insight PA Cyber Charter School procedures, policies, and state and federal requirements.

    Supervise or delegate all school operations, including daily school activities, the development of class schedules, teacher and school support staff assignments, and extracurricular activity schedules.

    Embrace and support all school marketing and retention efforts.
    Collaborate with Operational leaders/staff related to enrollment, including providing input to Enrollment, Attendance, and Placement policies, procedures, and decisions.
    Implement strategic planning across the department through research and implementation of evidence-based practices.

    Supervise and support professional educators in strengthening their instructional practicesEnsure a fair and equitable interview and selection process for open positions.

    Create a welcoming, informative, and supportive environment for new employees.

    Ensures student needs are being met meeting the needs of students while complying with local, state, and federal laws, including laws on special education.

    Represent the program and school in internal and external meetings, workshops, conferences, and professional activities.
    Perform other duties as assigned.
    Supervisory ResponsibilitiesDirectly supervises all assigned employees and contractors and fulfills supervisory responsibilities per the organization's policies and applicable laws.

    Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    The noise level in the office is usually moderate (computers, printers, light foot traffic).This position will include limited travel and will include limited overnight travel.

    This is estimated to be at least 20% of the time. Travel will be required for community events, professional development, budget and leadership retreats, and state testing.
