    Description

    School Bus Driver Position at Albemarle County

    The School Bus Driver role at Albemarle County's Transportation Department involves operating school buses and other vehicles to transport students to and from designated locations. Key responsibilities include:

    • Safely driving the school bus long distances on various roads
    • Ensuring safe and orderly loading and unloading of students
    • Maintaining order and discipline on the bus
    • Attending required meetings and training sessions
    • Performing routine bus maintenance and inspections
    • Submitting daily reports and timekeeping data
    • Responding to accidents promptly
    • Meeting qualifications such as education requirements and computer proficiency

    Special Requirements: The role requires meeting specific health conditions, completing training programs, and obtaining a Commercial Driver's License with school bus endorsements. Candidates must have a satisfactory driving record and demonstrate knowledge of traffic laws and vehicle operations.

    Physical Conditions & Nature of Work Contacts: The work involves various physical activities around and inside the school bus, frequent interactions with supervisors, students, and occasional contact with parents and the public.
