    Summary

    Thisrolewill report directly to theDirector of Enterprise Technology & Architecturefocusing onthecompany'senterprisedata strategyshapedby established guiding principles. This individual willdirectlycollaboratewithand influencekey stakeholders acrossall HCA services linestomaturedata platform capabilitiesand existing software applications.
    This individual will translatestrategic business objectives and vision intoreferencearchitecture,shapetechnicaland non-functionalrequirements,andleaddata drivenproject teams toenterprisescale solutionsbuilt for the future.


    The ideal candidate willpossessadvancedknowledge ofbest practices to supportmoderndata integration,data pipelines,data storage,streaming,emerging datascienceand advanced analyticsplatformtechnologies andcapabilities,cloudnativeinfrastructureand services,andsoftwaredevelopment lifecycle(SDLC)standards such as CI/CD,change management, andQualityAssurance(QA)processes.

    This includes, but not limited to,generativeArtificialIntelligence(AI), Machine Learning(ML),Internet of Things(IoT),and enterprise scale analytics. Additionally,the position willevangelizepublic cloud policies, standards, and bestpracticesin partnershipInformation Protectiontoensure consistency andadherenceacrossstate/federal regulatory and privacy requirements.


    The ideal candidate will championthe delivery ofwell-governed, high qualityclinical and operationaldata productsintegrated withgenerative AI/MLfunctions as part of a broad enterprise platform.

    This will be the key focus area toensuringdata trustworthiness and utilizationacross all stakeholders and domains within HCA Healthcare.


    This position will be expected to work with entities outside of HCA to stay abreast and informed of trends and opportunities that might improve or affect HCA's direction relative to the use and deployment of data architectures, inclusive of bothon-premiseand cloud-based capabilities.


    As a member of the Enterprise Technology & Architecture team, this individual will participate and facilitate activities such as Architecture Reviews,consult ontechnical designandprocess guidance, andwork directly with ITGleadership in the selection and review of technologies.


    Responsibilities:
    Ability to influence by simplifying technology concepts for business stakeholders.


    Willingness to demo small POCs in a sandbox environment to prove out enterprise viability, interviewing stakeholders for use cases and high-level requirements.

    Self-monitoring ability to prioritize and set incremental goals with the capability of pivoting approaches to find what works.

    Guiding ITG product teams on technology roadmaps,serving as a lead change agentin the identificationofemerging technologiesandadoptionstrategies, where necessary.


    Serving as a lead architect on data initiatives, working closely with all project stakeholders to establish and validatedesigns that honor thecurrent data strategy.

    Extractingand translatingbusiness strategy into architectural requirementsin support of modern data platformcapabilities.

    Continuously buildingstrong relationships with ITGleaders, Business leaders,product managers,project managers, and other technical domain experts.

    Understandinglong-term business objectives and suggestingtechnical strategies to meet those objectives.

    Effectively communicatingdesignconsiderations, direction, methodology, and decisionsdirectly with customers and stakeholders to ensure projects follow Enterprise Architecture standards.

    Highlightingarchitectural anti-patterns and blockersrelated to the project activities and work with Project Manager,SolutionArchitectandtechnical teamsto resolve.

    Collaboratingacross multiple development teams to align data architectureto strategy.

    Working withsecurity, networking,andcloud engineeringto ensure thatdatasolutions meet all established policies.

    Defininga data migration or bridging strategy for existing systems that need to migrate toa next generation application software platform.

    Assessing data management industrytrendsandever-changing technologiesto ensure developed solutions are following both internal and industry "best practices".

    Demonstratingstrong personal and organizational leadership skills.


    Position Requirements:
    A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or other related field; or equivalent work experience

    7+ years' relevant experience in Technology, IT/IS

    5+ years' experience with relational, multi-dimensional, and analytic database technologies

    Extensive experience in architecture, construction, and implementation of data-intensive solutions

    Strong interpersonal skills, including a desire to drive work and lead within a highly-matrixed, team-oriented environment.

    Independent operators are not sought and will not be successful in this position

    Extensive experience with relational database management systems; Teradata, Oracle or SQL Server preferred

    Significant experience with data modeling tools, PowerDesigner Studio or ERWin preferred

    Advanced SQL skills, including the ability to write, tune, and interpret SQL queries; tool specific experience in the RDBMS's listed above is ideal

    Experience interfacing data from multiple systems using both message-based and batch ETL methods

    Willingness to mentor and train junior team members

    Adeptness to learn new assignments, technologies and applications quickly and manage multiple assignments simultaneously

    Experience with Cloudera Distribution (preferable), Hadoop and open source technology

    Experience in operationalizing Data Governance, Data Stewardship and Data Quality

    Extensive experience in interaction with business and technology stakeholders in conceptual
