Senior Fullstack Engineer - California - Bolt

Description

Responsibilities:

• Full-Stack Development: Design, develop, and maintain backend services in Go and frontend applications in TypeScript to power Bolt's checkout and merchant dashboard experiences.
• Merchant Dashboard Ownership: Drive the development of the Connect-specific merchant dashboard while also evaluating and enhancing the overall merchant dashboard experience across Bolt.
• Checkout Experience: Collaborate closely with design, product, and data teams to build intuitive, performant checkout flows that optimize merchant and shopper conversion.
• Scalability and Performance: Optimize PostgreSQL, BigQuery, and Elasticsearch databases for high availability and responsiveness across merchant-facing applications.
• Technical Leadership: Lead technical initiatives and incident investigations, participate in on-call rotations, and mentor junior engineers.
• Merchant Collaboration: Partner directly with merchants to understand dashboard and checkout needs, troubleshoot integration issues, and propose scalable product solutions.
• Security and Compliance: Ensure dashboard features and checkout systems maintain compliance with PCI, data privacy, and fraud-prevention standards.
• API Development: Build and maintain REST APIs and webhooks to integrate merchant tools, analytics, and commerce platforms (Magento 2 BigCommerce, Salesforce Demandware, etc. ).
• Observability: Use Datadog for logging, monitoring, and tracing to ensure reliability, alert quality, and system transparency.
• Automation and Pattern Recognition: Identify inefficiencies, automate workflows, and create proactive monitoring tools to improve developer and merchant experience.
• Please note, this is a contract-to-hire opportunity with the option to convert to full-time after 3-6 months.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, or a similar cloud infrastructure provider.
• Strong experience with both frontend (TypeScript, React) and backend (GoLang, Python, or Java) development.
• Deep understanding of web application architecture and system design for scalability.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, or Ginkgo.
• Knowledge of databases such as Postgres, DynamoDB, and BigQuery.
• Comfort with infrastructure as code (Terraform or similar tools).
