Description

A national, multi-line insurance company offering a diverse array of insurance products and coverage is recruiting for a PM/Scrum Master on a contract basis.

This position will play a key role supporting a fast-paced data team powering the organization at large.

Ideally - you have a background in Business/ Data Analytics for financial services, insurance, or banking. We are looking for career progression into Project Management/ Scrum that emphasize end-to-end execution and delivery.

This position sits as the right-hand to the IT Manager, yet requires a high level of autonomy in decision making.

Available for C2C. Remote flexibility with occasional in-person expectation in Chicago, IL.


Key Responsibilities:
Lead and facilitate Agile ceremonies with a focus on data-driven projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder needs.
Manage data-related project scope, timeline, and resources within the financial services or insurance domain, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data project requirements, prioritize deliverables, and drive insights from data analytics.

Serve as a liaison between data analysts, business stakeholders, and technical teams to ensure clear communication and alignment of data strategies.

Identify and mitigate data-related risks and issues, proactively addressing challenges to ensure data integrity and accuracy.

Coach and mentor team members on Agile data management principles and best practices, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making and innovation.

Track and report data project progress, status, and metrics to stakeholders, providing insights into data quality, performance, and ROI.

Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Proven experience as a Project Manager or Scrum Master in data-focused projects within the financial services or insurance industry.
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and their application in data management and analytics projects.
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex data projects, prioritize tasks, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data privacy principles.
