- Valid Idaho Education Credential with proper endorsement.

- Assess students' cognitive academic, emotional, social, behavioral, and adaptive skills and abilities using a variety of instruments and techniques that are appropriate for the individual student.
- Summarize, interpret and communicate data obtained from assessments in a meaningful manner.
- Collect and utilize pertinent data from outside sources in assessments.
- Establish and maintain expertise in using technology such as data management, report writing, and data analysis.
- Serve as a liaison with school and community professionals and paraprofessionals in order to gather and/or disseminate information pertinent to referrals.
- Collaborate with others to develop appropriate cognitive and academic goals for students with different abilities, disabilities, strengths, needs, and develop interventions to achieve these goals.
- Apply sound principles of data-based decision-making to all aspects of practice (e.g., designing interventions, monitoring student progress, consulting with school administrators, and disseminating intervention research finds within the school setting).
- Identify diverse cultural issues, situations, and other factors that influence family, school, and community interactions and address such issues when developing and providing services.
- Demonstrate knowledge regarding the social, affective, and adaptive domains of child development.
- Identify and apply sound principles of behavior change within these domains to asses in designing and implementing prevention and intervention using positive behavioral supports.
- Maintain a system of record-keeping and data collection following required procedures as outlined in the Special Education Manual and Medicaid policies.
- Ensure that students and families know about community services and programs and assist them in accessing these, as appropriate.
- Facilitate group approaches such as counseling and class meetings to address school based adjustment problems.
- Provide psychological referral assistance for families.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work, communicate, and collaborate effectively with teachers, other school staff, and families as part of a team within the school setting.
- Assist in placement decisions to promote the least restrictive environment for students.
- Maintain appropriate forms and records to document due process procedures.
- Stay current with school psychology best practices through ongoing professional growth and development.
- Know and follow district policy and chain of command.
- Deal with students, parents, staff, and others in a positive, encouraging manner.
- Act ethically and confidentially in all aspects of employment.
- Any other duties as assigned.
