Franciscan Health Lafayette East Campus1701 S Creasy Ln Lafayette, IndianaThe Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing Ultrasound Imaging, operating sonographic equipment to obtain images of patients' internal body parts to support diagnoses and provide insight into medical issues, concerns or conditions. The Ultrasound Technologist works with and assists the physician in the performance of assigned procedures. This position assists in the training of students and sonographers, in Ultrasound. The Ultrasound Technologist maintains optimum timeliness, accuracy, proficiency, efficiency, and safety during the execution of duties, and works closely with patients to ensure they have an understanding of procedures and are comfortable during procedures.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Rotating Shifts: Days 7a-7:30p, Nights 7p-7:30a
Weekends: Saturday and Sunday Days
Monday night rotation
No On-Call requirements
May require additional shifts depending on staffing needs
Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures.
Practice effective team functioning.
Provide education to patients and students.
Maintain records, respect confidentiality and integrate PI process.
Responsible for Environment and Equipment.
Observe Universal Precautions and Infection Control and Safety.
Qualifications
- Certificate Required or in Ultrasound
- Associate's Degree or Certificate Required in Radiology or Ultrasound
- 1 year Ultrasound Preferred
- Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association Required and
- Registered Ultrasonographer (ARDMS) - . within 1 Year Required or
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification - . ARRT (S) within 1 Year Required
