- High School graduate or GED.
- College preferred with courses in business and medical terminology preferred.
- Must have demonstrated competence in a medical insurance, insurance forms, Medicare and Medicaid guidelines in medical setting for 6 months to 1 year.
- Previous billing experience in a medical setting desirable
- Have the ability to communicate regarding complex issues and negotiate positive financial outcomes while maintaining good customer relations.
- Requires demonstration of high functioning level of computer skills.
- Must have demonstrated strong customer service, organization, time management and multi-tasking skills.
- Excellent communication skills including speaking, listening and written skills.

Job DescriptionJob SummaryThis position is responsible for assisting the Manager in managing daily billing operations. Provides staff training, coaching and support, issue identification, assessment and resolution, and technical support within the assigned work environment. Performs all tasks related to billing payers such as Medicare, Commercial Insurance, Blue Cross, and/or Medicaid for services rendered to PACHS patients. Performs all functions with the objective of maximizing reimbursement to the health system and ensuring claims are paid/settled in the timeliest manner. Utilizes available data and resources to make decisions for completion of claims processing. Includes work involving accounts receivable and general ledger entries. Performs duties in a manner that is consistent with health system philosophy and policy in areas relating to accounts receivable, public relations, and third-party relations.
