- Manage Compliance Program for retail petroleum locations (gas stations) in the U.S. and Canada by ensuring testing, inspection, licensing and permitting obligations are fulfilled.
- Develop, maintain and update Retail Operations and Network Development procedures, standards and guidelines in relation to internal and external compliance obligations.
- Set up and maintain controls of compliance forms and checklists. Review Inspection reports from Contractors and Regulators, track repairs and returns to compliance.
- Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective or preventative action plans.
- Collaborate with management teams of internal departments to set compliance assurance objectives for our business units.
- Provide training, tools, and techniques to staff and managers to reach compliance objectives.
- Collaborate with relevant internal departments to identify, monitor and mitigate compliance risk, including licensing obligations.
- Establish, maintain, review and update processes to ensure compliance obligations self-assessments are conducted for internal business units.
- Proactively plan and conduct compliance assurance assessments of the Retail Operations and Network Development business units and ensure remedial work arising from assessments are delivered in a timely manner.
- Assist the Cost Control team with tasks related to all aspects of the project life cycle for a portfolio of assigned projects.
- Strong communication skills.
- Analytical thinking with attention to detail.
- Ability to develop, implement and maintain compliance and cost control processes and documentation.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships both internally and with governmental contacts in the U.S. and Canada.
- Bilingualism in French and English would be an asset.
- Degree or certificate in a relevant discipline is preferred.
- Experience working in regulatory compliance or risk management programs - in government or Oil and Gas.
- Experience working with a compliance register.
- Experience in managing licenses, permits and/or registrations obligations.
