    Staff Accountant

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Administer Purchasing Card Program.
    • Record/Reconcile all transactions ran through purchasing program.
    • Communicate/assist with department chairs on purchasing questions.
    • Assist with tracking capital expenditures/fixed assets.
    • Prepare and enter all PO's.
    • Reconcile and import monthly activity for the following categories of transactions and reconcile control accounts on a monthly basis.
    • Back-up the staff accountant payroll for payroll process and other job responsibilities.
    • Reconcile various University bank and general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries.
    • Generate monthly budget reports for budget administrators and respond to budget administrator inquiries.
    • Serve as a backup for all Accounts Payable functions.
    • Assist in preparation for the annual external audit and tax filings including data collection for the 990 tax return.
    • Maintain professional expertise and skills.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business/Accounting or equivalent experience.
    • Experienced in Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
    • Accounts Payable/Purchasing experience preferred.
    • Payroll experience is a plus.
    • Strong interpersonal skills required.
    • High level of accuracy and attention to detail required.
    • Strong interpersonal and communications skills and excellent.

    Salary Range:
    $46,100-$52, hour work week.
