Job Title: Child Psychiatrist
Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child Psychiatrist to develop a holistic mental health treatment framework adapted for children. The ideal candidate shares our vision of holistic mental health care for children. This physician will have a strong background in child and adolescent psychiatry, possess excellent communication skills, and be committed to improving the mental health and well-being of young patients. This Psychiatrist will be willing to learn the complex interconnection of mind and body and to apply this understanding to the treatment of children and adolescents.
Responsibilities:
Diagnostic Evaluation: Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments to diagnose mental health conditions in children and adolescents. Utilize appropriate screening tools, interviews, and observations to formulate accurate diagnoses.
Treatment Planning: Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each patient. Treatment planning will include exercise planning, and nutrition support in addition to diagnostic and medical care.
Collaboration: The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including other physicians, health coaches, exercise specialists, nutrition specialists, therapists, and families to create holistic treatment approaches.
Medication Management: Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, ensuring proper dosage and monitoring for any side effects. Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medication management and potential benefits and risks.
Therapeutic Interventions: Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, play therapy, and family therapy, to address emotional and behavioral issues in children and adolescents.
Crisis Intervention: Intervene during psychiatric emergencies and crises, providing immediate support and appropriate interventions to stabilize patients. Collaborate with emergency services and hospitals when necessary.
Patient and Family Education: Educate patients, families, and caregivers about mental health conditions, treatment options, coping strategies, and community resources available to support ongoing care.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including diagnosis, treatment plans, progress notes, and communication with other healthcare professionals. Adhere to legal and ethical guidelines regarding patient confidentiality.
Research and Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest research, treatments, and best practices in child and adolescent psychiatry.
Qualifications:
Medical degree from an accredited medical school
Board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Massachusetts state medical license
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Empathy and patience when working with children, adolescents, and their families
Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning
