Primary Purpose Under the direct supervision of the Employment Recovery Coach, provide on-site janitorial services for the Martin Gipson Socialization Center and Community Re-Entry Program. Essential Functions 1. Perform general janitorial tasks for assigned area. This includes, but is not limited to:

    Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and scrubbing floors.

    Cleaning walls, light fixtures, interior and exterior glass doors, door jams, and blinds.

    Cleaning and dusting cabinets and furniture.

    Cleaning and preparing lavatory as needed, sanitizing commodes, removing waste from waste receptacles, sanitizing stalls and supplying dispensers.

    Cleaning stairways, hallways, offices, lobby, common areas, and other areas.

    Able to follow oral and written instruction.

    2. Assist in moving and arranging furniture as needed.

    3. Maintaining trash removal systems including rotation of garbage receptacles and recycling.

    4. Reporting any maintenance issues that are observed on site.

    5. Performing other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Applicant must currently be receiving services from San Joaquin County Behavioral Health Services.

    Ability to pass background/sanction checks for the funding agency(ies). Preferred Qualifications Volunteer or paid experience in a helping profession desired.

    Ability to learn and adhere to university procedures involving the handling of cleaning agents or potentially hazardous materials.

    Knowledge of and adeptness in the use of manual tools.

    Positive attitude, proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion.     The position requires performing physical activities, including standing, bending, kneeling, stretching, and reaching while interacting with adults and significant others within the field and within the office. Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds. Possible contact with chemicals, loud noises, and confined spaces. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

    Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:

    Position is scheduled for 4-10 hours per week, during Gipson Centers normal business hours of 8am-5pm, M-F.
