    This is a NIGHT SHIFT position.

    Basic Function

    Provides leadership to a team of employees that are responsible for the manufacturing of finished goods. Safety is essential.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Assume full responsibility for the safety of team members. Emphasis on conducting safety meetings, job safety audits, and fully reinforcing our safety program.
    • Meet or exceed production volumes according to budgeted plan in both Grinding and Extrusion departments. Emphasis should be placed on maximum output and minimum scrap levels.
    • Expected continuous improvement in the quality of work, including any work in process and finished goods.
    • Responsible for planning cross-training of operators on three different inline extrusion and grinder systems
    • Meet or reduce budgeted material cost variances. Emphasis must be on the selection of proper materials as noted in our Bill of Materials.
    • Report all production and labor reports accurately through our SAP system.
    • Maintain accurate employee records in preparation for a fair and equitable assessment of performance to be administered during and at the completion of the fiscal year for all employees.
    • Hold all shift personnel accountable for their expected performance in safety, housekeeping, quality and production.
    • Maintain an educated work force through continuous training and disciplined programs required by Nuvida
    • Meet all required compliance expectations set forth by our Human Resources department and agreed upon by our staff.
    • Accountable for the safety of employees. Emphasis on conducting safety meetings, job safety audits, and fully reinforcing our safety program.
    • Be available to fill in as needed for breaks/lunch
    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Capable of motivating employees to meet the expected department goals which include productivity, safety, housekeeping, and quality.
    • Knowledge of plastics and their related process equipment in Extrusion and Pelletizing. PET or PP is a plus.
    • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
    • Excellent multi-tasker.
    • Bilingual a plus.
    • Strong leadership skills and communication skills.
    Experience
    • Previous experience in a management role.
    • Experience in recycling experience a plus.
    Other
    • Work in accordance with all company policies and procedures regarding employment, safety, quality, product safety and legality, security, and regulatory compliance as applicable
