    About the job DeltaV Controls Engineer

    We are seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join our team in Alpharetta, GA. In this role, you will be responsible for various tasks including programming, system configuration, documentation, factory acceptance testing, and field start-up and commissioning activities, with a focus on DeltaV systems and other related platforms.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering plus 5 years of relevant work experience, or a combination of education and relevant work experience
    • Strong proficiency in programming DeltaV Distributed Control Systems
    • Extensive experience with Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and OPC communications protocols
    • Solid understanding of control panels, panel wiring drawings, and field wiring diagrams
    • Proficient in P&IDs, including the ability to develop new P&IDs, review existing ones, and create Instrument & I/O Lists from P&IDs
    • Familiarity with ISA tagging conventions
    Desirable:
    • Experience programming PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred) and HMIs (Inductive Automation Ignition, AVEVA/Wonderware System Platform, Rockwell FactoryTalk View, GE iFIX preferred)
    • Familiarity with other platforms such as Omni Flow Computer, ROC, and Load Metering Devices
    • Experience in developing operational and technical manuals, including training guides, HMI manuals, and operating procedures
    • Knowledge of Electrical Protection Relays and Historian systems
    • Familiarity with external notification systems (text, email, mobile app, etc.)
    • Experience with DeviceNet and/or Profibus communications protocols
    Responsibilities:
    • Assist in the development of logic diagrams, cause & effect matrices, and functional narratives
    • Participate in the development and/or review of control panel design packages, field wiring diagrams, conduit & cable schedules, and associated E&I package deliverables
    • Attend field verification and user requirements gathering walkdowns
    • Develop DCS/PLC/HMI programming
    • Execute factory acceptance testing and field start-up and commissioning, including troubleshooting support
    • Contribute to and participate in client training
    • Provide after-hours support for internal/external clients as required
    • Collaborate with Senior Engineering Leads and Project Managers to ensure quality of deliverables and adherence to budget
    • Keep Project Managers informed of progress, issues, and change order needs
    • Travel approximately 25%, including air travel
