    As a Behavior Program Specialist, you will:
    • Create and conduct Behavior Skills Training (BST) sessions through the systematic framework and collect data within the session and within the classroom environment during the capture phase.
    • Implement and monitor the Positive Behavior Training (PBT) management system (School-wide level system) within individual sessions.
    • Collect and analyze behavioral and replacement skill data.
    • Communicate with parents and other EBC personnel on each student's engagement in BST sessions and current goal data.
    • Develop and report on each student's behavioral performance as each relates to the
    • student's behavioral IEP goals with the BST session.
    • Prepare written summaries, update goals, and participate in IEP meetings and parent-team conferences, as requested.
    • Participate in weekly team meetings, staff meetings, and case conferences as well as student IEP meetings as requested.
    • In consultation with the Behavior Program Manager, train behavior team staff on developing, implementing, and monitoring students' Positive Behavior Intervention Plan (PBIP).
    • Provide training and guidance to Behavior team staff on implementing and monitoring the schoolwide Positive Behavior Training (PBT) management system at the classroom level.
    • Provide daily behavior support to the classroom teams during school hours.
    • In consultation with the Behavior Program Manager, conduct and develop monthly training sessions for the behavior team on needed topics such as classroom behavior management, data collection, and positive reinforcement.
    • Supervise and support students who are off task, as needed.
    • Serve as substitute classroom staff, as needed.
    • Attend weekly group supervision and individual supervision meetings with the Behavior Program Manager.
    • Be trained and execute procedures prescribed for behavior emergencies and/or escalating crises.
    • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
    Accountability:
    • Ensure that school policies and procedures are carried out.
    • Ensure that CA Educational Code is adhered to.
    • Adheres to CHC Employee Handbook.
    • Ensure the Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Laws are adhered to.
    • Protect the confidentiality of client/student and families.
    • Adhere to the ProAct Crisis Physical Intervention guidelines and requirements when working directly with students/staff.
    What we're looking for:
    • Knowledge of and classroom teaching experience with children who have serious emotional disturbances and learning disabilities.
    • Ability to develop, prepare, deliver, and monitor IEP's based on identified skill and behavioral deficit areas.
    • Knowledge and experience in developing, reporting, and administering IEP plans.
    • Ability to work on an interdisciplinary team and to provide guidance/supervision to teaching assistants/interns.
    • Knowledge of basic computer skills to communicate via email and prepare documents on a word processor.
    About your background (education/experience):
    • Required: B.A in Education, Psychology, or related field and/or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum five years working in behavior support in a school setting working with children who have serious emotional disturbances, autism, or learning disabilities.
    • Required: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification
    • Preferred: M.A. Degree and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst
    Working Conditions:Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to undergo training and implementation of Pro-Act, verbal de-escalation, and physical restraint procedures. Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time for instruction and supervision. Special Job Requirements: Ability to work certain evenings for scheduled events (Open House; Achievement Night; Staff training, IEP meetings, etc.). Must have Valid CA Driver's License.Contact with Others: Able to communicate clearly in oral and written form, as well as articulate expectations to the classroom team and students. Ability to clearly and professionally communicate w/parents. Extensive interpersonal interaction with peers and outside contacts. Compensation:Range: $80,000-$98,000 per yearPay Type: Salary * The starting base salary for this position is as shown above. The actual base salary is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, and market demand. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
