- PhD in Physics, Chemistry or Materials Science
- 2 years of related postdoctoral research experience
- Related experience in superconductivity, electron magnetism and/or quantum phase transitions
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- In depth knowledge of strongly correlated systems, including magnetism, superconductivity, spin liquids; topological states
- Ability to work independently and be proactive in the work environment.
- Ability to work with students (undergraduate and graduate), postdocs and faculty.
- Pressure measurements or spectroscopic techniques experience is desirable and familiarity with band structure calculations is a plus.
- Conducts experimental studies. Communicates the results of scientific research through presentations.
- Maintains lab instruments and facilitates, trains students in the use of equipment and use protocols.
- Supervises undergraduates and graduate student researchers and maintains a safe and efficient work environment.
- Manages research projects and related budgets
- Facilitates ongoing research in the laboratory, and develops and validates new protocols, methodologies
- Communicates the results of scientific research through verbal presentations at scientific conferences and written articles submitted for publication
- Actively engages to improve the laboratory's reputation and set of scientific capabilities
- Supervises and trains student researchers in the lab
- Performs all other duties as assigned

The Morosan Research Group is focused on design and discovery of novel materials, with emphasis on emergent phenomena.
These include all flavors of magnetism (i.e., local and itinerant moment, Kondo systems), topological correlated systems, superconductivity and density waves, as well as exotic phenomena resulting from competing phases, e.g.
quantum criticality.The successful candidate will be closely collaborating with the principal investigators in Condensed Matter, while also participating in mentoring the group's graduate and undergraduate students and postdocs.
Annual Hiring Range:
$63,100 to $80,000
This position is funded by a grant, soft and/or restricted funds. Continued employment is contingent on the renewal of funding.
