Clarivate is seeking to hire on an experienced Lead Technical Accountant to join our global finance department Reporting to the Director of Technical Accounting, the Lead Technical Accountant position will be responsible for analyzing transactions (including revenue, lease, stock-based compensation, financing arrangements, and acquisitions) to identify potential accounting issues.
Partnering with key stakeholders across the organization, the Lead Technical Accountant will be responsible for all aspects of accounting for these process areas including journal entries, account reconciliations, SOX compliance, and external reporting requirements.
About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments...Bachelor's degree in accounting
CPA
3+ years of progressive accounting experience
Big 4 and/or publicly traded company experience in a similar role
Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations
It would be great if you also had...
Master's Degree Accounting/Finance;
Experience within the technology industry and/or large accelerated filers preferable and a major plus factor
Experience with complex and significant accounting transactions preferred
Strong understanding of an effective and efficient internal control environment
Attentiveness to details
Ability to work effectively across the globe across cultures and time zones
What will you be doing in this role?...
Responsible for the technical accounting of all stock-based compensation, EPS, and equity accounting and related 10-K/10-Q disclosures
Support review of significant contracts for accounting implications
Support the Company's annual impairment testing of goodwill and acquired intangibles
Prepare analyses and other information to support the annual audit and quarterly reviews with external auditors
Manage and perform accounting research and technical compliance research. Thoroughly research and document all accounting principles and procedural recommendations while assisting in resolving financial issues
Support accounting policies, procedures and systems as required, and ensure internal control procedures are adequate and properly documented. Establish and/or enhance existing processes and controls to best in class
Support special projects and analyses to management as needed
Effectively communicate new US GAAP, IFRS, and SEC findings and impact to the Company to the team
About the Team
This will be a global role reporting into the Director of Technical Accounting as part of a Technical Accounting and Reporting team of 12 colleagues and larger Finance organization.
Hours of Work
This is a full-time, hybrid position working within commutable distance to either our Ann Arbor, MI or Philadelphia, PA offices
Ability to be flexible with working hours across regions and time zones worldwide
