    Description

    The Kingdom East School District, Student Services, is seeking a 0.4 FTE School Nurse assigned to Miller's Run School and to be a Nurse Leader working out of an office in Lunenburg, specializing in practice of professional nursing that advances the well-being, academic success, and lifelong achievement of students.

    School nurses facilitate positive student responses to normal development; promote health and safety; intervene with actual and potential health problems; provide case management services; and actively collaborate with others to build student and family capacity for adaptation, self-management, self-advocacy, and learning.

    School nurses plan and prepare the school's health related instruction and programming, create an environment of health and wellness, deliver nursing services and health and wellness classroom instruction, and participate and are the school's health and wellness expert professional educationally-based school nurse healthy community


    The school nurse provides school health services to students in order to integrate health and wellness knowledge and skills throughout the school and curriculum based on knowledge of pediatric, community health, emergency, adult, and mental health nursing.


    School nursing is an independent specialty practice, as described in Vermont Agency of Education The Standards of School Nursing Practice.

    Kingdom East School District is located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We operate seven preK-8th grade schools ranging from 60 to 500 students.
