- Laboratory Buyer/Materials Management: Performs activities related to the procurement of products, reagents, equipment, and repair items by utilizing contracts, buying groups, and specialized Supply Chain software applications. Investigates and resolves invoices, packing slips, receiving, and backorder issues to achieve prompt payment to vendors. Works directly with supervisory/management staff within inventory management/procurement.
- Accreditation: works with Director to perform gathering of information and online submission of accreditation applications; maintains records/documentation for accreditation. Generates, compiles results for Laboratory Satisfaction Surveys related to provider satisfaction. Participates in accreditation inspections as needed/requested. Advises on accreditation standards/regulations and performs direct contact with regulatory office when needed.
- Proficiency: reviews and orders accreditation proficiencies for Regional Laboratories, ensures guidelines are met; maintains records and ensures timely completion of surveys. Works directly with Pathologists and Cytotechnologists to ensure completion of proficiencies specific to Anatomic Pathology and Cytology.
- Laboratory Document Control Coordinator: Functions as Document Control Coordinator, responsible for updating/revising/creating departmental policies, procedures, forms, competencies, and more; maintains database for monitoring status of all documents.
- System Policy Manager Departmental Coordinator: Functions as Document Control Coordinator for all Laboratory related policies and procedures.
- Responsible for updating, coordinating printing of manuals, distribution to all units, maintaining electronic policy locations, and annual review/revisions to manuals. Ensures the Laboratory webpage and related documents are maintained.
- Laboratory Statistics/Finance Coordinator: Compiles and analyzes various statistical reports, works on budgets, and oversees procurement processes. Reviews and approves departmental invoices/credits and coordinates with various departments to resolve invoicing issues.
- Accounts Payable Coordinator: Manages purchase orders, resolves invoice/credit issues, reviews/approves departmental vendor invoices/credits, processes check revenue, and more.
- Billing Coordinator: Processes billing/invoices, ensures proper reimbursement, reconciles accounts, and follows up on invoice-related issues as needed.
- Human Resources: Manages personnel records, processes new hires, conducts on-boarding, maintains records for all staff, and works with Education Coordinator for student on-boarding.
- Safety/Infection Control: Performs various safety-related functions, maintains product recall notifications, coordinates monitoring activities, and processes infection reports as needed.
- Information Technology: Supports IT activities within department applications, maintains department equipment, and trains users on specialized applications.
- Performs instrument/analyzer/reagent/quality control correlations, training, and maintenance of specialized applications. Performs miscellaneous duties and creates various materials for laboratory functions.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or science-related field or HEW certification; must have MLT certification and be currently working on a degree.
- 3-5 years in a Clinical Laboratory Setting preferred.
- Registered as MT(ASCP) or MLS(ASCP) or CLS(AMT) or equivalent is required.
- Licensure as Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) if required by State.
