    Description

    The Medical Staff Analyst will be directly responsible for maintaining databases and serves as a support service to the Medical Staff Office and liaison with the IT and Quality Department.

    The Analyst provides administrative, analytical, technical support and expertise necessary for the operation of the Medical Staff Services department as primary duties, back-up for the Medical Staff Coordinator and Credentialing Coordinator.

    This position reports to the Medical Staff Director.

    Required Skills


    • Ability to demonstrate technical ability to utilize software programs for database management, report writing as well as word processing;
    • Ability to process computer data and to format and generate reports
    • Knowledge of credentialing and privileging procedures and standards and applicable accreditation and provider certification requirements;
    • Ability to demonstrate organizational and communication skills;
    • Ability to display attention to detail;
    • Ability to think critically;
    • Demonstrate professional behavior and communicate well, both verbally and in writing;
    • Ability to work well and get along with others to foster a cooperative work environment;
    • Ability to adapt to flexible work schedules and frequent interruptions;
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
    • Demonstrated skill in written and verbal communication and in ability to independently prepare memoranda, letters, reports and other communications.
    • Demonstrated professionalism, tact and sound judgment in the representation of the medical staff to internal and external personnel or agencies.
    • Ability to independently organize and prioritize tasks.
    • Good overall knowledge of Medical Staff Office practices, procedures and guidelines.
    • Ability to seek out new methods and principles to improve services.
    • Bilingual English/Spanish-preferred.
    • Basic knowledge of Roberts Rules of Order.
    Required Experience


    Work Experience:
    Three (3) years of related work experience in a healthcare setting. Knowledge of The Joint Commission Medical Staff Standards preferred.


    License/Registration/Certification:
    Certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services as a CPCS or CPMSM preferred.


    Education and Training:
    High School graduate or equivalent.

    Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
