    The Retail Supervisor is expected to exemplify everything the brand represents in terms of personal image, overall behavior, quality of execution, good taste and discretion. Through our staff and our products, Tarnished Truth will foster an image of luxury, thoughtfulness, approachability, and ultimate hospitality. As the Tarnished Truth Retail Manager, you are as experienced on the floor as you are with retail operations oversight. As an integral part of our store team, you will help pioneer the direction of our retail operation. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for visual aesthetic, customer experience, and well-made goods. Strong verbal/non-verbal communication and relentlessness in their pursuit of a hospitable experience is a must. This position is an opportunity to grow professionally, and have a hand in shaping the trajectory of our growing retail business. The Retail Supervisor will oversee and coordinate customer service, merchandising, inventory control, distillery tours and tastings, and other related activities for Tarnished Truth Distilling Companys small gift shop located within the Historic Cavalier Hotel. The Retail Manager works directly with ownership to ensure compliance of state and federal laws relating to distilled spirits sales within the gift shop.

    Responsibilities:

    Level One

    1. Oversees, coordinates, and performs computerized cash register sales transactions and cash management

    2. Manages a team of part-time and full-time Retail Sales Associates, who will provide the ultimate personalized Guest Experience with the highest level of excellence and thoughtfulness

    3. Assist with training and developing Retail Sales Associates to ensure the team meets and exceeds quantifiable performance metrics (Net Sales, Tour Conversion to Sales, monthly/annual sales goals, etc.)

    4. Run Sales and Inventory Reports and communicate insights to ownership

    5. Assists with the development and implementation of operating budgets, policies, and procedures

    6. Respond to specific customer inquiries (phone/email/person)

    7. Monitors sales through the cash register; resolves discrepancies, prepares, reconciles, and records cash receipts for deposit, and prepares sales reports

    8. Manages retail operations as needed for both after-hours on-site events, as well as off-site pop up shops

    9. Monitors and coordinates ordering, receipt, and return of merchandise and/or equipment; verifies invoices and billing and resolves errors and discrepancies; as appropriate, coordinates shipping and/or delivery of merchandise to customers

    10. Supervise and participate in the execution of all daily operations tasks including replenishing inventory on the sales floor, replenishing packaging materials, maintaining the tidiness of all products and displays, accepting and tagging new inventory shipments and provide an unmatched customer service experience - ensuring no Guest leaves dissatisfied

    11. Manages, coordinates, and participates in tours and tastings run through our tour booking software

    12. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

    13. Performs all state and federal required reports for sales of Distilled spirits within the gift shop

    Qualifications:

    Type Qualification
    Experience At least 2 years of experience managing a retail operation
    Experience Knowledge of cash management principles and/or procedures Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures Knowledge of retail stock management and control principles and procedures Knowledge of retail floor sales techniques Knowledge of retail advertising, sales promotion and/or visual merchandising techniques Knowledge of basic fiscal and personnel management principles
    Skill Ability to analyze and solve problems Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures Ability to summarize and reconcile retail sales and operating statistics, and to prepare routine statistical reports Ability to operate a computerized cash register Ability to foster a cooperative work environment Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
