    Description
    Assists in repairs, installation and inspection of building HVAC equipment, pumps, compressors, refrigeration and other mechanical equipment assigned. Performs scheduled evaluation of equipment and preventive maintenance and repairs. Takes care of request for service calls in a timely and effective manner.

    Provides a high level of customer service, when running calls and assures that the customer is completely satisfied with the results.

    Performs all required TMA functions to assure that work tickets and PM's are completed satisfactorily and that the work orders are closed as soon as completed.

    This is an Essential Personnel position, which can require that the incumbent must report for duty and work through emergencies, and also can be designated by the supervisor as essential for the accomplishment of work, or for the completion of a critical task.


    • Must have excellent customer service management skills
    • Working knowledge in HVAC, refrigeration, electricity, and safety protocols
    • Proven ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers
    • Highly knowledgeable of skilled trade principles, practices, and procedures, facilities and preventive maintenance as well as HVAC control systems
    • Position may require late evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday working hours
    • High School Diploma or equivalent and two years' experience in refrigeration and preventative maintenance repair to include high-rise commercial HVAC
    • Experience in performing repairs on commercial and high rise buildings
    • EPA Certificate for refrigeration
    • Must have a valid and unrestricted (not include corrective lens needs) U.S. Driver's license and must meet the Tulane University Motor Vehicle Policy criteria to become authorized as a driver
    • Experience working in an academic or hotel environment
    • More than two years' experience in the HVAC field including repair and preventive maintenance
