- Conduct federal background investigations and maintain compliance with Federal Investigative Standards and regulations.
- Travel to different locations for investigations at places of employment, residence, and education institutions.
- Interview subjects in person to gather factual information about their background and character.
- Interact with various organizations to develop effective working relationships.
- Adapt to changing environments and situations while maintaining professionalism.
- Handle workload based on available cases in the geographic area.
- Possible temporary assignments in different locations around the country.
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of investigations experience at the federal, state, or local level.
- Experience with NBIB/DCSA/FIS.
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
- Ability to pass background checks and required training.
- Proficiency in MS Office and related software.
- Current or ability to obtain a Secret level security clearance.
- OPM investigator training.
- Prior background investigations supporting government contracts.
- Associate or Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice or related field.
