- Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 8 years' experience in areas of law related to that described herein.
- Admission to, and good standing with, the Arizona State Bar is required (include on resume the date(s) of admission in Arizona and any other states). An active Arizona State Bar license is required.
- Graduation from an accredited college of law.
- Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver's license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver's license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Job Summary:
The Attorney 4 position that will provide legal representation and services to the Industrial Commission of Arizona, including to its members, Director, Deputy Director, and the Commission's various divisions, to include: the Special Fund in uninsured workers' compensation claims, second injury claims, supportive care claims, and matters involving A.R.S.
§§ & ; the Arizona Division of Occupational Safety and Health in matters involving the enforcement of the Arizona Occupational Safety and Health Act; the Labor Division in enforcement of youth employment matters, wage claim appeals, and other matters under the Labor Division's jurisdiction.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.
Across our many agencies, boards, and commissions, many State employees participate in the State's Remote Work Program and are able to work remotely in their homes, in offices, and in hoteling spaces.
All work, including remote work, should be performed within Arizona unless an exception is properly authorized in advance.Job Duties:
This position will also give advice regarding personnel matters and record requests; assist the Commission with legislative matters and rule-making; represent the Commission in efforts to ensure employer compliance with A.R.S.
§ 23-961; pursuing subrogation of third-party no-insurance claims; collecting money owed to the agency/state; utilize the ICA case management and paperless file systems to maintain an electronic file and database for all assigned matters.
