    The Community Partnership Specialist is responsible for promoting Empath Healths vision and mission in the community and generating inquiries and referrals into our range of services to increase the level of services provided to the community.

    He/She/They conducts a variety of outreach activities, builds strategic relationships based on the needs and requirements of the organization and the community, and represents the organization to the public as needed to increase awareness of our mission and utilization of our services.


    JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Community Outreach :

    Develops a strategic outreach plan with the goals of generating inquiries and referrals into the range of services and involvement opportunities of Empath Health/ Tidewell Hospice, Suncoast Hospice, Suncoast Hospice of Hillsborough and increasing visibility of these services and opportunities.

    Executes all required activities in the plan to carry out a variety of community outreach actions within the community.


    Inclusion and Diversity :
    Develops and implements educational and quality improvement projects and programs that measurably strengthen, improve, and support the cultural responsiveness of staff and leadership of Empath Health/ Suncoast Hospice, Suncoast Hospice of Hillsborough, and Tidewell Hospice Participates in the development and implementation of community input initiatives related to equity/inclusion/diversity such as focus groups, community conversations, and assessments

    Community Representation :
    Represents Empath Health/ Tidewell Hospice, Suncoast Hospice, Suncoast Hospice of Hillsborough at a variety of relevant community events and initiatives in order to 1) share information with the community, and 2) bring information back from the community to inform the development of resources and messaging . Assists the organization with incorporating the concerns and issues of the varying communities into strategic and operating plans. Proactively seeks out relevant community groups, organizations and events at which to represent the organization.


    Subject Matter Expertise:

    Demonstrates a thorough and complete knowledge of the organization including: vision, mission and values; services and resources available and eligibility criteria; organizational contacts for all service lines; organizational strategy; current marketing initiatives; and how services are differentiated from competitors in the marketplace.

    Is proactive in keeping knowledge current as changes occur.


    Public Speaking :

    Speaks publicly on behalf of Empath Health/ Tidewell Hospice, Suncoast Hospice of Hillsborough or Suncoast Hospice and its family of programs, ensuring at all times to deliver accurate information and messaging in keeping with current organizational strategy.

    Delivers presentations and develops new presentations as required.


    Organizational Initiatives :

    Takes leadership roles and participates in all active organizational community engagement projects and department initiatives (community forums and events, Gathering Place events, etc).

    Organizes and implements community events hosted at Empath Health/Tidewell Hospice, Suncoast Hospice or Suncoast Hospice of HillsboroughCommunity Partnership Development :
    Forges collaborative partnerships that result in the formation of new or enhanced programs, services, resources that benefit Empath Health/ Tidewell Hospice, Suncoast Hospice, or Suncoast Hospice of Hillsborough and the community we serve

    Measurement of Mission:
    Participates in department and organizational tracking systems and measures to demonstrate effectiveness of efforts. Participates in soliciting feedback mechanisms to evaluate success of all outreach activities. Follows up with community contacts in a timely manner. Manages community concerns and inquiries through established organizational protocols.


    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

    Education and/or Experience:

    Bachelors degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Minimum 3 years outreach, professional relations and/or sales and marketing experience preferred.
    Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal relationship skills, including public speaking experience.
    Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles as related to healthcareKnowledge and experience in community organizing. Familiarity with community development principles and tools that strengthen community participation.
    Experience planning and facilitating public meetings, events and forums.
    Strong problem solving skills, critically analyze dataExperience identifying community needs through focus groups, surveys, and other mechanisms.
    Ability to work independently exercising a high degree self-motivation, resourcefulness, independent judgement, problem-solving, and time management skills.
    Knowledge and command of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel.
    Available to work evening and weekends as required.
    Maintain Customer Relationship Management System (CRM) databaseExcellent customer service skills.
    Able to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities, and meet deadlines.
    Must have reliable transportation/insurance and be willing and able to travel throughout the county.
