We provide quality and integrity in designing and building dependable prime and standby power generation resources in various challenging and critical environments.
Oversee the entire Engineering Department including design, electrical, and manufacturing.The Engineering Manager will be responsible for designing high quality products that are cost effective, efficient to manufacture, and are easy to service.
The Engineering Manager is responsible for all the base functions of the Engineering Department.The incumbent will use various tools to perform the job, to include but not limited to computers, computer generated reports, blueprints, and associated hand/shop tools.
The incumbent assists in preparing cost estimates on prototype manufacturing and to facilitate design changes to improve the quality and reliability of TPS products.
At all times, the Engineering Manager considers safety practices and follows guidelines set forth by Company Policies, practices, and procedures.
Follows all OSHA and Taylor Safety Policies and sets an example for all team members by using compliant safety practices.
The Engineering Manager will be expected to plan, organize, and proceed, but keep supervision informed of what his team is contributing to company success.
Selects, develops, and motivates competent staff of subordinates, establishes work standards, deadlines, and priorities, reviews, and measures performance; recommends promotions and salary increases as are commensurate with company policy.
# Collaborate and support the R&D department with necessary design and bill of material changes.
# Select and monitor component suppliers for the best service, quality, and pricing.
# Establish initial design project schedules and regularly maintain design project schedules.
# Frequently communicate with the TPS Sales Manager and Sales team to ensure all engineering projects are in line with what they are seeing in the marketplace.
# Manages mechanical, fabrication, electrical engineers, submittal clerks, sales request for engineering administrators and other personnel within the engineering group.
# Oversee all bill of material change requests to ensure changes are valid. Makes the engineering bills of material changes, and job bill of material changes on all applicable jobs.
# Directs and assists in the design of mechanical parts and assemblies, delivering detailed, production-ready 3D CAD models and 2D drawings.
# Directs engineering team in collaboration with third party development partners and client technical teams to solve design issues including but not limited to integration of mechanical components, electro-mechanical hardware, controller ladder logic software.
# Manages and assists personnel within the group to provide sales support through technical publications and answering sales related technical questions regarding products, applications, design, installation, specifications, placement, solutions & product use.
# Supervises personnel in designing marketing material, creating, and maintaining literature and product specification sheets, creating all manuals and illustrations and the compilation and distribution of submittal data.
# Keeps TPS website current by providing information to our webmaster as needed.
# Manages and assists personnel within the group in the creation of exploded view drawing to be used in parts catalogs, assembly and maintenance manuals and other instructional material.
# Field requests from manufacturing and/or service for assistance with mechanical and/or electrical assembly procedures or problems.
# Manages all Plex related workflow items as assigned to the engineering team.
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree
Preferred to have experience with manufacturing robotics.
