    Madison Veterinary Specialists (MVS) is seeking full time experienced Certified Veterinary Technicians and recent graduates from an accredited Veterinary Technician program to join our growing team.

    We have open positions in our Oncology department.

    As the Oncology Certified/Licensed Technician primary responsibilities include providing veterinary medical nursing care, perform laboratory test and administering treatments under the direction of our board-certified veterinary Oncologist.

    Additional duties include acting as the primary liaison between the client, doctor and clinical staff, assist in surgical procedures, perform anesthesia, catheter placement, calculate drug dosages (including CRIs), process prescriptions, prepare treatment estimates and invoices.

    Our Oncology service utilizes progressive safety equipment including closed system transfer devices and a certified Type B2 biosafety cabinet to ensure our patient and team member safety.

    Full time, 4 days per week.
    Monday through Thursday, ~8:00 – 5:30 pm

    Job Type:
    Full-time

    A graduate of a veterinary technician program with current registration as a Certified or LicensedVeterinary Technician possessing 1 or more year's clinical experience in veterinary field.

    Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with staff and clients effectively and with discretion.

    Willingness to participate in continuing education in the area of Oncology and other related technician skills to ensure continued improvement in standard of care.


    Physical:
    Must have the strength and stamina to work on feet throughout shift and lift up to 30 pounds.

    Ergonomic:

    An employee in this position must be capable of safely working in environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials, infectious and zoonotic diseases.


    Other:

    An employee in this position must have a strong sense of helping clients and caring for animals and to assist with emergency or critical-care patients as needed.

    Experience as a Veterinary Oncology Technician
    Veterinary Technician Specialty (VTS) IM(Oncology)

    On-boarding & Training: Each new MVS team member completes a personalized training program with MVS to help acclimate, answer questions and generally assist with getting to know the larger team.
