    ABOUT THE ROLE


    The members of the accounting job family ensure that Cavco's financial books and records are appropriately maintained in a timely and accurate manner.

    They maintain the chart of accounts, general ledger and all subsidiary ledgers. They process accounts receivables and accounts payable as well as maintain lists of authorized vendors. The accounting group works directly with the external auditors and financial reporting to ensure GAAP and SEC compliance.


    The Plant Accountant / Officer Manager is a non-degreed accountant (although accounting degree preferred) supporting the plant general manager with transactional accounting processing and coordination of initiatives supporting plant operations.

    He/she may oversee accounting clerks and other plant support staff - helping to ensure smooth operations across the manufacturing environment.

    This role works independently executing process steps, conducting analysis, problem solving and delivering recommendations.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


    • Process invoices from manufacturing
    • Process invoices from corporate office
    • Support plants and corporate staff on vendor and invoice inquiries
    • Provide phone relief for operator
    • Set up new vendors with the corporate office
    • Extensive customer service (both internal & external)
    • Review batches for any necessary corrections
    • Account Reconciliations
    • Process receivers
    • Heavy filing
    • Process deposits
    • Process Monthly spreadsheets
    • Other support duties for General Manager as required

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


    • Associates degree required, bachelor's degree preferred
    • Accounts payable experience desired
    • Previous accounting experience desired
    • Medium level of Excel
    • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
    • Organizational skills
    • Ability to deal with all levels of management
