    General Information:

    The primary function of this role is to lead the factory in ensuring accessibility of parts for all machines including operations and facilities equipment with the objective of minimizing unplanned downtime. This role is responsible for managing inventory based on demand and cost targets and maintain stock levels that enable efficient planned maintenance. This role must have a working knowledge of stock-control systems to effectively record and analyze the movement of parts including warranty and repair cycles. This role will work closely with all departments in the plant including operations, process & quality engineers, continuous improvement, HSSE, and contractors.

    Your Responsibilities:

    • Forecast and determine parts requirements, establish priorities, and schedule and initiate measures to ensure proper control of maintenance parts, materials, and tooling.
    • Reduce overall spend/budget for spare parts by optimizing part standardization and synergies with contracted specialists (motors, vending, mechanical and electrical supplies, PPE).
    • Create ease of access and location of parts for required personnel including engineers, supervisors, and technicians
    • Partner with the maintenance or facilities planner to develop preventative maintenance 'parts kitting'
    • Maintain 'point of use' parts storage including vending, VMI, and auxiliary parts locations.
    • Streamline part check-in/out, repair/replace/warranty cycles to ensure quick cycle times and minimize rework.
    • Manage inventory including accurate stock levels and obsolescence.
    • Source new suppliers, vendors, and transportation groups or leverage existing to maintain quality, but optimize costs.
    • Manage parts room team including contracted resources.
    • Purchase parts and supplies.
    • Manage activities, influence decisions, negotiate prices and terms, and ensure contract compliance.

    Your Background:

    • At least 5 years' experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in a logistics, maintenance, or operations role.
    • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
    • Experience in SAP and MS Office.
    • Associates or bachelor's degree in business management, industrial engineering, or material management/logistics.
    • Good problem-solving/critical-thinking skills, attention to detail, project management, and process development and adherence.
    • Leadership/Management experience.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.
    • Knowledge and application of commercial terms, contract law, supply management and transportation.
