- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 2-year technical degree in electrical / mechanical or comparable experience preferred.
- Must be willing and able to work towards MSHA electrical certification while working in the Mechanic I position. (High, medium, and low voltage, underground and surface).
- Must be knowledgeable of State and Federal mining regulations pertaining to underground mining. Training provided.
- Must have demonstrated welding and fabrication skills.
- Must have demonstrated operating, servicing, repairing, and troubleshooting skills on heavy equipment. Experience with mining equipment preferred.
- Must be able to troubleshoot from blueprints and service manuals.
Pay rate is $22.00 to $38.36 per hour. Will start off through staffing agency.
What you will do:
Perform mechanical and hydraulic maintenance and repair work on all equipment associated with an underground coal mine. - Perform servicing, mechanical, and hydraulic repairs of underground mining equipment.
- Maintain underground equipment in permissible condition as defined by MSHA.
- Perform scheduled maintenance, and complete reports and records as required.
- Perform other, non-maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Read and interpret blueprints and follow maintenance manuals and parts books to set up and perform tasks.
- Document work as required is SAP and other applicable systems.
- Conduct all work activities in compliance with Federal and State coal mining laws and Company policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
