    Advanced Practice Provider, Neurology Inpatient Service

    Overview:


    The Neurology APP will work with the Neurology inpatient ward services and along with the Neurology attending, Senior and Jr residents, will be responsible for the care of patients with neurologic diseases.

    The Neurology APP will be one of the responding clinicians for patients admitted to the neurology service.


    Promotes a collaborative relationship between the interdisciplinary care team with the shared goal of continuity of patient care and efficient use of resources.


    As part of the incumbent's professional role, they will serve as a role model for practice through nursing and trainee education, participation in departmental clinical operations improvement and quality initiatives as appropriate and the provision of continuity of care for the clinical teams, patients, and their families.

    Daily work will involve responsibility for patient care and clinical operations cross inpatient Neurology services with a focus inpatient clinical care, including performing admissions and follow up care and facilitation of next steps including discharge planning, patient education and coordination with service staff to secure post-discharge resources.

    Qualifications:

    Education/Degree/Licensure

    Current Massachusetts licensure as a registered nurse and current certification as a Nurse Practitioner granted by a Board recognized certifying organization

    Master's or Doctor of Nursing from an accredited nursing program

    Prescriptive authority for controlled substances in MA (MCSR)

    DEA registration for controlled substances
