    Description

    Cardiovascular Surgeon Needed for Vacation Coverage in July

    A hospital is in search of a cardiovascular surgeon to assist with vacation coverage in July.

    Schedule:

    • Full-time position Monday to Friday (7 am to 5 pm), with on-call duty.
    • Orientation starting on July 15
    • Proctoring on July 16-18, followed by work from July 19 to August 1.
    • Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) handle initial calls for the ICU, hospital floors, outpatients, and emergency department.
    • Temporary privileging will be provided.

    Practice:

    • Combination of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities.
    • Currently overseeing 4 post open-heart patients, with a total of 15 cases since January 2023.
    • Support staff includes first-call support by APPs, vein harvesting, 2 CV anesthesiologists, and complete CVOR support by the anesthesia team.
    • Charting done using Epic/Dragon software.

    Requirements:

    • Active Medical License in MI and DEA certification are mandatory.
    • A minimum of 75 completed caselogs in the last 12 months is required.

    Cases & Procedures:

    • Performing bread & butter procedures including CABGs and post open-heart surgeries.

    Travel and Accommodations:

    • Arrangements and expenses for air travel, rentals, and lodging will be managed and covered.
    • The facility is conveniently located just 30 minutes away from an international airport.
