Job Summary

We are looking for an outstanding hygienist to join our team. We have an immediate need to fill for 6-8 weeks that would have the possibility of becoming a long-term position. Looking to fill Monday-Thursday.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency.
• Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while ensuring proper infection control and aseptic techniques.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, documenting treatment plans, assessments, and patient interactions in EMR systems like Daisy.
• Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with all infection control protocols.

Skills

• Proficiency in dental software systems such as Daisy for documentation review and appointment scheduling.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and general dentistry procedures.
• Experience with pediatric dentistry practices and providing compassionate care for children in pediatrics settings.
• Skilled in chairside assisting with a focus on pediatric dentistry, including vital signs measurement and patient assessment.
• Familiarity with infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, explaining procedures clearly and providing excellent patient care.
• Knowledge of EMR systems, medical records management, and documentation review processes to ensure accurate recordkeeping.
