    UPMC Magee is excited to announce open positions for Graduate Nurses as full-time Professional Staff Nurses. These opportunities are highly coveted, helping recent graduates begin their nursing journey at UPMC.



    The 20-bed Transitional Care Unit primarily serves short-stay recuperative and rehabilitation patients, predominantly geriatric and/or stable post-op orthopedic and oncology patients. The TCU fosters a family- and patient-centric environment emphasizing collaboration and communication. Proficiency with wound vacs, hoyer lifts, and standard IV therapy is essential. Working in the TCU involves partnering with patients, families, therapists, and counselors to facilitate the patients' return home with maximum independence. Enjoy a variety of recreational activities, 24-hour visitation, and an onsite PT/OT gym. OAPSA clearance is a must.

    Shifts/Hours: Our RNs follow a rotating 12-hour schedule to ensure round-the-clock coverage.



    Prospective Graduate Nurses must be eligible for State Board Licensure and pass the examination to commence this role. Alternatively, they can begin with TPP and achieve licensure within four months. Job title placement and salary are determined based on individual experience and education level.

    • We prefer six months of experience, but we welcome new graduates with no previous experience

    • We have no degree preferences; ASN, BSN, MSN are all accepted



    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

    • Registered Nurse (RN)

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification

    • CPR certification as per AHA standards, including didactic and skills demonstration within 30 days of hire

    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

    • UPMC approved national certification preferred

    • Act 33 clearance with renewal

    • Act 34 clearance with renewal

    • Act 73 FBI Clearance
