    LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse)
    Essential Functions of LPN:

    • Gives and receives nursing shift report to ensure continuity of care for patients.
    • Goes on routine rounds of patients, making nursing assessments of Vital signs, Neurological status, Emotional status, Physical restraints, Skin conditions, Reactions to medications and Results of medical treatments.
    • Receives verbal and written physician orders. Transcribes verbal orders on physician order sheets.
    • Reports to and assists physicians per physician and Director of Nurses request.
    • Reviews physician orders to ensure accuracy in completing orders.
    • Administers medications and treatments as ordered by physician.
    • Admits, discharges or transfers residents per supervisor's request.
    • Provides nursing assessment and care to residents per request of Director of Nurses, physician or in emergency situations.
    • Instructs residents in self-help and self-care.
    • Performs tests and other diagnostic work on residents as ordered by physicians.
    • Informs Director of Nurses of significant changes in resident conditions.

    *MUST HAVE ACTIVE IOWA LICENSE*

    Pre-Employment Drug Screen and Background Checks are required.
