Description
Summary:
The Training Manager is responsible for overall management, organization, and administration of all employee training programs and records for Krome SPC.
This position is contingent upon a contract award. We will not be actively responding to applicants until there is a need to move forward with this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
:
(including but not limited to)
Supervise Training Officers in conducting contract-required and specialized training.
Oversees development of curriculum for training program and revises program as necessary to meet ICE mission requirements.
Prepares and submits annual training plan and any revisions to the APM.
Oversees classroom, field-training strategies and programs ensuring that employees maintain a high level of competency.
Ensure quality control of the training program.
Ensures training completion documentation is submitted to the COR promptly after training completion.
Oversee all training files are complete and in compliance with ACA and PBNDS requirements.
Ensures all training records and documentation is filed at the conclusion of each class.
Audit courses taught by Training Officers to ensure quality control.
Provide professional development and advanced training for Training Officers
Provide firearms training for Transportation Officers and Armed Detention Officers.
Administer and oversee firearms qualification for Transportation Officers and Armed Detention Officers.
Preparing/developing training class outlines/handouts, ensuring copies are provided to the COR.
Develop full lesson plans for all blocks of training.
Develop training presentations in PowerPoint, as appropriate.
Provide First Aid, AED, CPR training as required.
Provide Disturbance Control Team Training to designated individuals on each shift.
Provide defensive tactic instruction.
Conducting a training program that maintains the currency of all employee training requirements and certifications.
Ensuring employee training meets ACA standards.
Ensuring employee training meets 2011 PBNDS (2016 Revision) standards.
Documenting all training in employee files.
Updating and submitting training plans and training schedules to the Facility Manager and COR.
Confirming employee position proficiency through such methods as on-the-job observation and assessments.
Conducts training as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, education, corrections management or equivalent
Minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience
successful completion of a course of training for qualifying personnel as instructors.
Certified as a Florida State Security Officer Instructor, Florida DI License.
Certified as an American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor or must be able to acquire certification.
Certified as a or have the ability to obtain a Florida State Firearm Instructor, Florida K License.
Hold a Florida State Firearm License, Florida G License
Valid Driver's License with clean driving record, able to drive company vehicles.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous military range training experience
Previous law enforcement firearm training experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Supervision
Supervises Training Officers within the facility.
Shareholder Preference:

Working Environment:
The work environment characteristics described in this job description are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.
Works in an office, training, classroom, and field environment. Work areas may include all areas of the secured facility. Overall demands of this position are moderate.
Physical Demands (including but not limited to):
May be required to bend and stoop frequently and occasionally kneel or crouch. Often climbs stairs and works with arms above the shoulder. May be required to move heavy equipment.
Required to lift 50 lbs or less frequently and often lifts 50-65 lbs.
May often be required to grip, squeeze and repetitively use fine hand movements.
Must be able to withstand physical activity, commensurate with administering training in defensive tactics and disturbance control.

Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8:00a.m.-5:00 p.m. or as needs dictate
