- Assesses patient and their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements.
- Explains and prepares the patient for all radiographic procedures.
- Interviews patients and reviews available clinical data from charts in order to alert nurses and/or physicians to possible contradictions for procedure.
- Communicates with providers on types of x-rays and ultrasound that can be done at JVCHC.
- Downloads reports and distributes them daily.
- Keep disc for records storage.
- Orders UPT as needed on female patients.
- Must have working knowledge of electronic medical records and how to navigate within the system to retrieve material.
- Conducts ultrasonic diagnostic procedures and records anatomical, pathological and/or physiological data for interpretation by a physician.
- Assists physician during invasive procedures requiring ultrasound guidance.
- Maintains patient charts and records and records and processes sonographic data and other pertinent observations made during the procedure for presentation to interpreting physician.
- Code appropriate CPT, ICD9, and ICD10 and submit billing for services performed.

- One year work experience required in a similar field. Additional education may be substituted for years of experience.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
