Location: Fairport, New York

Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Job Type: Full-Time

Overview: The Fairport Central School District is in search of a passionate Speech-Language Pathologist to be part of our team. The role involves delivering crucial speech and language services to students, making a significant impact on their academic and social growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform assessments to identify speech, language, and communication disorders.
Create and execute personalized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language requirements.
Administer direct speech and language therapy to students individually and in groups.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to aid student advancement.
Maintain precise records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress.
Attend IEP meetings, offering expertise and suggestions.
Conduct screenings and offer consultations as necessary.
Stay informed on the latest practices and progress in speech-language pathology.
Provide guidance and assistance to school staff regarding speech and language development.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
New York state license for Speech-Language Pathology practice.
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Certification from New York State Education Department for Speech-Language Pathologists.
Familiarity with IDEA and special education regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Previous experience in a school setting is desirable.

Required Licensure and Certifications:

New York State License: Required to possess and sustain a valid speech-language pathology license in New York.
ASHA Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) endorsed by ASHA.
New York State Education Department Certification: Certification for Speech-Language Pathologists meeting state educational and examination standards.
