    POSITION SUMMARY:


    The Business Analyst will be primarily responsible for continuously analyzing business and technology requirements, researching solutions, and making system and software recommendations to support key stakeholders in improving the efficiency of day-to-day operations at Erikson Institute's Graduate School.

    The Business Analyst will join Erikson's Research, Registration, and Records team and report to the Director of Research, Registration, & Records.


    PRINCIPAL DUTIES:


    Own the process of data input and export by analyzing the processes of how data comes in, is altered, and exports from Erikson's Admissions CRM, student information, and learning management systems.

    Enforce provisions that all data inputted into preferred systems adhere to data governance definitions by establishing data checks, running evaluations, and correcting data integrity issuesConsult regularly with the admissions, enrollment, advising, finance, financial aid, and institutional research teams to gather information about existing system needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirementsDevelop a framework for continuous process improvement of the student information system by defining ways to make processes more efficient, reduce error, and create additional value/insight including, but not limited to, enhanced automationCo-lead, alongside relevant stakeholders across the enrollment (i.e., inquiry through enrollment) and professional development life cycles, a comprehensive needs analysis of Erikson's current student information systemPropose best practices for data governance and business processes related to higher education environmentsServe as primary liaison between Information Technology, Registration & Records, and Institutional ResearchCompose and maintain documentation on data governance and business processesSystematize the testing of software, systems, and services on a regular basis to compare to requirements and documentation by creating test transactions and running tests to find errors and confirm that systems meet specificationsCreate SQL queries against databases to validate test resultsCollaborate with the Associate Director of Research Operations on data report creation using SQL queries in combination with data visualization toolsGuide faculty, staff, and students on the use of technology tools and applications by developing training materials and providing training and technical assistance on the use of technology tools and applicationsAssess potential data management systems with the goal of not only recommending a system that fits Erikson's needs, but also serving as a point person for systems integrationSupport the Registrar by serving as the first point of contact for the registration ticketing system (i.e., take ownership of the ticketing lifecycle, ensure that all tickets are clear and actionable, gather additional information if needed, assign tickets to the appropriate individuals, and verify satisfactory resolutionAssist Registration & Records, Advising, and Academic & Institutional Affairs with preparing back-end systems and processes that will support successful course registration cycles each termOther duties as assigned.


    QUALIFICATIONS
    Masters degree in Higher Education Administration or related fieldKnowledge and skills developed through 10+ years of work experience in higher education environmentsProficiency and experience writing and troubleshooting queries required to manage a SQL environmentExperience working with higher education student information systems and/or customer relations management systemsExperience working with third party/middleware systems or integrationsExperience developing user guides and documentationStrong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to distill technical concepts in non-technical terms to relevant stakeholdersAbility to work independently, while meeting well-defined deadlines, as well as in a team environmentDESIRED
    QUALIFICATIONS


    Experience with Jenzabar One, Erikson's student information system and/or Slate, Erikson's customer relations management systemExperience with any third party/middleware systems that interact with Jenzabar is a plus.
