- contribute to the definition of innovative and differentiated products
- new silicon validation and characterization (hands-on work in the lab)
- product promotion and design-in support, as well as support for sustaining products
- develop technical documentation (e.g., datasheet, application notes, and design guidelines)
- customer support (including on-site support) to analyze, debug, and resolve issues quickly
- system level testing and characterization
- set up and execute Simplis simulations of power converter circuits and systems
- design evaluation kits – schematic design, board layout, software/GUI development
- work closely with local and remote teams (FAE's, design/test/product/reliability engineering, and marketing) to perform the tasks listed above

Job DescriptionThe Core Power Team is seeking an enthusiastic Application Engineer who will be responsible for the development and qualification of high-performance DC-DC power converter products. Renesas' advanced control architectures allow a challenging arena for strong engineers. The job entails working with cross-functional groups to continually push the envelope of technology implemented in Renesas products.
The location for this position is Morrisville, NC
Responsibilities:
The candidate will participate in the entire product development cycle of power management IC's such as buck converters, PMICs, and multi-phase regulators. Primary responsibilities will include:
Education:
The candidate should have BSEE + 2 years, or MSEE + 1 years (preferred) of industry experience in power management ICs or related applications engineering.
