- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, covering medical history, physical examination, and diagnostic test reviews.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic neurological conditions like migraines, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and neuropathies.
- Collaborate with neurologists and healthcare professionals to design personalized treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and therapies, offering patient education on condition management and lifestyle adjustments.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures, including lumbar punctures, EMGs, and nerve conduction studies.
- Manage side effects and complications of neurological treatments.
- Coordinate patient care with various specialties to ensure holistic treatment.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Mentor new Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Engage in research and continuing education to be up-to-date with neurology practices.
- Uphold professional standards and ethics outlined by Dartmouth-Hitchcock.
- Attend continuing education programs for professional development.
- Advocate for patient rights, privacy, and informed consent.
- Offer compassionate support and address patient and family concerns.
- Fulfill additional assigned duties as necessary.
- Demonstrated interest in neurology.
- Masters or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Maintain current licensure as an APRN or PA, with DEA registration and national certification.
- Possess strong clinical skills with an evidence-based focus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setup.
- Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
