• ADULTPOSITION SUMMARY This position evaluates psychiatric patients in the Emergency Department and makes recommendations to the Emergency Department Physician as to the disposition of those patients.

Consults with attending psychiatrists as needed.

This position also evaluates patients throughout the organization, as requested or urgently, who are in need of mental health assessments.

This position also evaluates referrals from outlying facilities communicated via electronic transmission for potential admission to the program.

This position facilitates or recommends appropriate referrals or preventative services, treatment and support for populations with alcohol, drugs and/or substance abuse.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Master's degree (MA, MS, MSW) or Doctorate in Psychology or Social Work, RN, or Licensed Practical Nurse.

One to two years of experience in the assessment of patients with psychiatric conditions, emotional disturbances and chemical dependency disorders required.
