    Description

    Summary:

    The internship in clinical School Social Work provides supervised experience in direct service and consultation for Bucks County students, ages 8-14, placed at the Inspire partial hospitalization program (PHP) located at the Samuel Everitt School.

    The experience provides the Social Work intern with direct supervision in both direct services to students as well as opportunities to network with supporting community agencies on behalf of students. This internship is designed to meet the minimum hourly requirements for the intern to receive certification in the Pennsylvania.

    Essential Functions:


    • Treatment plan development


    • Individual and group therapy as related to each child's treatment plan goals


    • Complete daily progress notes and other necessary documentation


    • Parent education and support related to their child's mental health diagnosis and treatment goals


    • Group planning and development specific to the identified treatment goals of the student members


    • Co-facilitate family therapy sessions


    • Participate in treatment team meetings with program psychiatrist and clinical coordinator


    • Consultation with school and agency staff


    • Crisis intervention


    • Resource coordination

    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee may be required to stand for long periods, and to climb or balance and stoop, kneel. crouch. or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:

    The clinical social work internship is available for an academic year, September through June, or for one school semester, September through December or January through May.
